They chose their favourite chinese zodiac animal ... the rabbit!

 

Chinese New Year is celebrated in many countries around the world. Each new year is named after one of twelve animals. 2010 was the year of the tiger, 2011 the year of the rabbit and 2012 is the year of the dragon.

IT IS A RABBIT.

IT IS  WHITE.

IT IS SMALL AND SHORT.

ITCAN  JUMP.

IT CAN’T SWIM.

IT EATS CARROTS.

IT SLEEPS IN A CAGE.

IT  HAS  GOT  LONG  EARS.

IT HAS GOT FUR.

The Chinese New Year festival lasts for 15 days.

At midnight on New Year’s Eve, every door and window in the house is opened to let the old year leave.

People wear bright, red clothes to bring a happy future.

This is lucky.

2012 is the year of the dragon.

The dragon is a symbol of strenght and good luck.

In the parade, people dress up in dragon costumes.

Fireworks are very important because they scare away all misfortunes and bad luck ...
